To your health
The Santa Clara Family Health Plan marked the opening of its
new
Family Resource Center at 1450 White Road last Sunday.
The Center
will provide resources to create wider community
knowledge and use
of health care offerings. "Today's opening is
a step in reaching
out and becoming part of the East Side
community we will serve,"
said Family Health Plan CEO Leona
Butler. Reflecting the diversity
of that community, representatives
of various faiths gave their
blessing to the Center's opening.
Among the services provided will be health education classes and
workshops, a health library and audio-visual center, and access
to
computers with direct health information links. The Center will
also
have staff from the County Social Services Agency, making access
to Employment and Benefit services easier for eligible customers.
Santa Clara Family Health Plan is a non-profit organization working
to improve access to quality, affordable health care. The Center
project is the 1999 recipient of the $50,000 SmithKline Beecham
Healthcare Partnership Award.
